A brief history of Rhayader and District Male Voice Choir
On a cold winters evening back in 1957 in the back room of a local public house in Rhayader 4 gentlemen, a Bank Manager, a Farmer and 2 Quarry Drivers formed what was later to become the Rhayader and District Male Voice Choir.

Miah is farmer from Crossgates, Powys, where he has farmed since leaving school at the age of 15 having attended Crossgates School and then Llandrindod Grammar. He joined the YFC at 12 and held most of the offices at club level and county.
He was Brecon and Radnor NFU chairman in 1988, played football for Wales (1 full cap against Ireland and 2 representative games) and although he was a late starter in joining the MVC due to these and other commitments, he has been a staunch member since and has acted as the choirs MC on many occasions.
Bethan, an Associate of the London College of Music, studied the piano at
Jonathan moved to Mid Wales and joined the Choir in 2016. His musical background comes from The Salvation Army where he was an active member in the Band and Senior Choir for many years. This included a period of leading a Senior Choir in Bristol. He is currently studying a BA (Hons) Arts and Humanities (Music) degree with the Open University.
